Studio

Previously based at Oxheys Mill Studios in Preston, which I co-founded and led as working artists studios, project space and gallery. In my working studio there I photographed artworks of all sizes, delivered photographic workshops, talks, met clients and provided consultancy services. Sadly in 2016 due to our landlord’s failing health, the building was sold and unable to find alternative space, Oxheys became peripatetic which allowed it to continue and for artist members to collaborate and participate in a variety of activities and events.

My small home-based studio, on the outskirts of Preston/Chorley, has been purposefully set up for art reproduction and still life/macro photography. With full control over lighting I can photograph small to large 2D artworks such as drawings, prints, books and paintings, along with 3D objects such as ceramics, pottery, jewellery, sculptures and other artefacts. Clients can deliver and collect artworks by arrangement. Those not based locally can make use of insured delivery and collection services, with a schedule agreed to suit us both.

For prints, where I already hold the processed master files I can normally produce prints in a short time scale, depending on quantity needed and the paper selected. If a specific paper that I don’t normally use is requested, additional time would be needed to order in, test and produce printing profiles. When master files are held by another photographer/artist additional time would also be needed – in this instance the processed, final 16-bit AdobeRGB TIFF files will need to be uploaded first, checked and a test done. Please contact with any queries.

Consultancy work can usually be undertaken remotely for most projects, utilising secure online storage for uploading artwork images and other files and using Skype or similar for conversations. Workshops can also be delivered online. On site can be arranged (subject to distance, accessibility etc) but will incur additional costs.

Again, communication is key so please contact – all enquiries are welcome.
